Saturday 8:00 a.m.
The Analyzing Literature group session will help you understand how to critically analyze literature and prior studies into common themes and outliers. During this session, you will have the opportunity to practice implementing various analysis strategies, with emphasis on the research funnel to support flow and structure. Students are encouraged to come with topic ideas for the coach to use as an example. This session is helpful to attend if you would like to learn how to analyze research.

This group session will provide students with support for some of the common formatting issues encountered while completing the dissertation.

Saturday 9:00 a.m.
While developing the statement of the problem, you may face challenges such as incorporating the funnel approach, including research, identifying gaps, and discussing the contribution to the field of research while keeping all the details concisely 250-300 words. Therefore, this live group coaching session will enable you to explore various techniques and strategies. There is always time provided for interactive group discussions, so each session is unique. Students are encouraged to attend this interactive group session more than once while developing their statement of the problem.
Wednesday 3:00 p.m. & Saturday at 11:00 a.m.
The Purpose Statement Group Session will guide you through the purpose statement process by providing an understanding of the significance and meaning of the purpose statement. Through questions-and-answers, examples, guided practice, and application of knowledge, you will leave the session with the competency needed to effectively construct a purpose statement, including its connection to the problem statement and the research questions. Students are encouraged to attend this interactive group session more than once while developing their purpose statement.
Thursday 4:00 p.m.
The Qualitative Analysis: Coding group session will introduce you to qualitative data analysis through the process of coding and support you in optimizing your use of NVivo. During this session, you will be introduced to the key characteristics and types of coding. You will learn about the purpose and importance of coding and how to outline the factors that determine the design of a coding scheme. This session will help you develop an understanding of how categories and emergent themes can be derived from the analysis. This session is primarily intended for graduate students pursuing a master’s or doctoral degree.
Monday 4:00 p.m.
NVivo is a qualitative analysis software that is helpful for working with various amounts and types of data. You can use this software to organize your project, manage and code your data, and visually display your results. This session will provide a foundational understanding of NVivo. By the end of the session, you will understand how to start a new project, where to go to add your data sources, and how to move from raw data to codes. Learners will learn key strategies for the preparation and organization of data prior to beginning analysis to ensure that the end result is indicative of the goals for the study presented in Chapter 3. Additionally, the session will touch on identifying themes and using NVivo to support your analytical work!
Wednesday 3:00 p.m.
This group session will introduce you to the core qualitative designs. This session will provide insight into the benefits and cautions for each design and will give guidance to those unsure about the type of qualitative design most appropriate for their research. During this session, you will learn more about the assumptions, limitations, and seminal authors related to each design. There will be time for Q&A, so be sure to bring any questions you might have.
Friday 4:00 p.m.
This group session will introduce you to experimental, quasi-experimental, non-experimental, and causal-comparative research designs, including the description and general requirements for each design typology. During this group session, you will learn about the requirements for an experimental, quasi-experimental, or non-experimental research study. The information you learn during this interactive session will help you to make an informed design selection and fully understand why that selection is the most appropriate for your study.
Tuesday at 4:00 p.m.
The Synthesis and Analysis group session will help you understand and utilize the key concepts of synthesis and analysis in academic writing. During this session, you will have the opportunity to practice synthesis and analysis through use of an outline for paragraph and paper development. Students are encouraged to come with topic ideas for the coach to use as a research example. This session is helpful to attend if you would like to learn how to synthesize information.
Sunday 8:00 a.m.
The Synthesizing Research group session will assist you in understanding the outlining process starting with a main research topic. During this session, you will practice identifying themes, topics, or evidence for collaboration or divergence. Students are encouraged to come with topic ideas for the coach to use as an example. This session is helpful to attend if you need guidance on how to organize your ideas.
Tuesday 1:00 p.m.
The Theory-Conceptual Framework Group Session will help you in understanding the key components of a theoretical-conceptual framework and its purpose in your work. We will identify theories and concepts present in a research topic, working together to develop a framework for the dissertation study. Through examples, questions-and-answers, and guided practice with theories and concepts, this session will uncover the importance of the theory-conceptual framework, empowering you to identify potential frameworks and begin the first steps of putting it together.
Sunday 1:00 p.m.
The Writing Research Design group session will provide you with the foundational knowledge needed to successfully write up research designs within the three major social sciences research methodologies (e.g., Quantitative, Qualitative, Mixed Methods). During the live session, you will learn how to write a research design section through question and answer periods, guided practices, and examples of the application by identifying an appropriate research design for a hypothetical research problem (i.e., research plan).
