IRB Webinars

IRB Webinars are live events pertaining to a variety of topics.  Attendees will gain insights about IRB process and materials through short presentations (20-30 minutes) as well as engage in question and answer sessions. Webinars are scheduled for 1 hour typically during time slots that help to reach as many NU community members as possible.  Please register ahead of time for this service!

April 23, 2024 - "The NU Institutional Review Board (IRB): Recruitment and Informed Consent Materials and Process"

In this webinar, IRB staff will provide information about Informed Consent for research with adult human subjects including Recruitment materials and process as well as Consent materials and process.  Principal Investigators (PIs) will also learn about research with minors and research in normal educational settings.

January 18, 2024 - "NU Institutional Review Board (IRB): Pre-Application Steps, the Application process, and Application Specifics"

In this webinar, IRB staff will provide a general overview of the IRB Application, including steps required prior to the application, the overall application process, and specifics about the application platform (Cayuse), including sample applications and typical supplemental documents.Information about what to expect after application will also be presented.

IRB staff will provide a general overview of the purpose of the IRB, the resources and services offered to help build an application, and the overall application process. Principal Investigators (PIs) from the entire National University community (graduate students, faculty, staff, and administrators) can benefit from this “IRB 101” event.
