Social ConstructivismMercadal, T. (2020). Social constructivism. Salem Press Encyclopedia.
Mercadal notes that constructivist theory, particularly social constructivism, has roots in both social and cultural theory. Because of cultural roots, she posits that people within a culture can adopt the same worldview. So, while social constructivism studies how people learn and gain knowledge, it also results in how knowledge is created and shared specific to culture.
