Access Google Translate

Translating Text or a Document in Google Translate

Throughout the course of your research, you may come across a resource that is related to your topic but is written in the native language of the publication. Unfortunately, a direct translation or copy of this resource may not be available. 

You may choose to use Google Translate to translate the document.

NOTE: Be mindful of translations as they can inaccurately reflect the context of the work. Some text may not translate well or as intended. 


Translate Text

You can translate certain portions of a resource by pasting content into the Text box:

Translate Documents 

If you have a PDF or other file format of the resource (.doc, .docx, .odf, .ppt, .pptx, .ps, .rtf, .txt, .xls, or .xlsx) you can use the Documents upload feature:

Once you have uploaded your document, click Translate.

Google Translate will then reformat the document in your chosen output language, such as English.
